Are all-girls schools losing their appeal (for high school) ?

All girls school aren’t losing any appeal. All applications are up and more kids are staying if they have grades in lower and middle which makes it even harder with less spots in high school.

My daughter went to one of these all-girls' schools and had an appalling experience. I bitterly regret not moving her out of the ultra competitive, toxic community she was in. We were constantly told it would get better, that the girls grow out of of being mean. Not true. Oh, and diversity of thought is not tolerated by the girls or the faculty.

That’s unfortunate. Mine had literally the opposite experience. Was it ultra competitive? Of course. That seemed to help fuel my daughter in positive ways that have benefited her well beyond school.

Diversity of thought is tricky… I suppose it depends what topic you are talking about to know how tolerated that would be. My advice for others… look deeply at the schools and kids who attend them. Do you see your daughter (or rather, her type) there? If not, you know your answer… your kid isn’t going to be the one to break the mold or school, I promise you that.

I hope your DD found her spot and people in college!

No it's the MAGA trend.

My neighbors who are legacies are not going near some schools they have previously because they do not want MAGA they are opting for boarding schools instead. These are very wealthy families
