Where could you use a $10 gift card?

Another option would be to send lunch to the whole group one day instead.

A lot of times you can add the gift card to the store app (e.g., Target, Wawa) so don't have to deal with carrying the card around.

What is the deal with people who think anyone wants gift cards? "You know what this person would really want? Money, but not real money, fake money that is only good at one specific place they may or may not want to patronize. Surely this would be more useful and appreciated than cash that they can use literally anywhere for literally anything..."

It feels sort of demeaning to hand someone $10 cash.

I have a whole old school coin bank in the shape off maybe some Tower in London where I have all my coins and maybe a few dollar bills on top.

I have no cash on hand anymore to the point where I avoid personal service calls where I can't tip through an app.

The crazy thing is I used to keep up to 15K in cash on hand, now I have no cash except for a few $1 bills

CASH because you cannot use Venmo/Zelle with these people.

I’ve started giving out cash instead. Why not? A nice $10 bill feels nicer than a Target gift card. At first I felt weird but now I see teachers and daycare appreciate it more.

Okay well if you wouldn’t want to receive cash, then just regift it…

I too don’t use cash but it’s easy to get cash from the bank. Maybe easier than buying gift cards!

I think it's fine for something like dog groomer, where tips are common.

So go to the bank and get $2 bills. Or golden dollar coins. Get creative. You could put Sacagawea coins in like a little mesh pouch and hand those out.

Or do origami with it.

I don’t think it’s demeaning. I usually hand it to them inside a card anyways.

Gas station gift card

You’re right - -
For that amount, Starbucks is typically the first place I would think of.

Other places could be a popular, local fast-food place or even a gas ⛽️ card as well.

But I’m not going to download those apps to load that $10 GC. - teacher back again

So sad, $5 and $10 is like a “nothing” amount. You can only buy candy .

Just get a visa or Mastercard gift card so they can go anywhere.

The fees on those things are absurd especially for small amounts.

Seriously, just do cash in a nice card.
