You are totally overthinking things. I would not explain anything, and I don't think you need to report the 3 either. It's self-reported and I don't think any AO is going to try and see if any scores are missing, given that they spend maybe 10 minutes on an application max and your kid has plenty of 5s. |
Anne Arundel County used Apex Learning Virtual School for some AP classes last school year. |
I don't disagree with this (I posted the comment you responded to). That's why it makes sense to take APs that speak to your actual interest rather than a pile of random APs just to prove "rigor". And when you're intentional about taking APs that speak to your interests and focus for learning, which may require you to take online AP classes, AOs will def count that and it's for a purpose. That's why this whole argument about online APs being punitive in admissions doesn't make sense. |
FYI - kids are cheating in in-person classes also... |
Who is administrating the test the public school or UC Scout?? |
Are you talking about taking an online AP that speaks to your interest which is not an option at your school? That’s not what others are talking about. |

I’m very glad my child took the online class. Allowed him to sleep every other day and kept his grades perfect in other classes.
He did not even take the AP exam as we knew he wouldn’t get a 5. So there’s nothing for schools to see other than the A on the transcript. |
Well, AOs still think nonprofits founded by students are legitimate so... |
Do you mean the AP test? My child went to another high school in the county that offered the class in person, for the AP test. |
