ITA! I have done it a couple times and won't anymore. We've left at 2am rather than do this bc it was not more relaxing and didn't feel worth it. |
| I do this for very early morning departures. |
| I did this for the first time a few years ago and now do it every time! I am so much more relaxed knowing I'm already at the airport. Maybe bc I'm new york city based and the airports here are less predictable in terms of traffic and whatnot, but I'd say it's definitely worth spending the night at the airport before an early flight. I don't sleep well at home before an early flight. |
| I wouldn’t do it even if the hotel were free. To sleep 30 extra minutes? |
| I dont sleep well in hotels so would much prefer my own home for one more night. I would spend the money on closer parking instead. |
|
I keep thinking of doing this for BWI but then I decide it’s not worth it.
My guess for the OP’s home airport is MIA, just because I’ve had to stay at that airport hotel a couple times. |
| Not if you live less than an hour from the airport |
|
We live 45 minutes to an hour from the airport and do this every time we have a morning flight. It really reduces our stress about getting to the airport on time.
We get there for a late dinner and try to treat it as part of our vacation. |
| I'd much rather sleep in my own bed and get up a bit earlier. Take the hotel money and pay for an Uber service that you can reserve a pick up time the night before and they drop you off at the terminal- so easy. |
| I only do that with the airport two hours away from me about half of the time. So no, not worth it for 30 min away. |
| Yes, I value my sleep, and if its disrupted badly I'm basically just totally f'd for a few days. |
