We played their MLSNext team recently. Solid team. What’s your angle?

And this is why parents spend all of this money and time and wonder why their kid has no D1 offers and it is unfair that internationals are taking their D1 spots.

Can anyone name ONE current professional SYC alumni in Europe?

Can anyone name FIVE current SYC professional alumni playing professionally anywhere right now?

As someone who did the research and kept an open mind about where to go locally, it was clear that certain clubs prepared you for the highest level and some clubs prepared you to win IG, Jeff Cup, MLS Next, SuperCopa and the Rankings app. It’s okay if that is your thing but please understand winning has NOTHING to do with development.

The SYC team in my son’s age group would DESTROY our current team right and we are a “top 5 team in the state.” They have a great collection of talent.

While those kids are athletically superior right now and have no competition locally, we are building boring technical habits when they matter the most. Once puberty hits and you can no longer outrun and outmuscle your opponents and you have have a poor first touch and don’t know how to create a favorable 2v1 situation anywhere on the pitch through a dribble or pass because your soccer IQ is too low, have fun winning MLS Next while the boring kids who lost early are in Europe, MLS Next or at worst, D1.

You’re welcome to the two people who will heed this warning. The rest will return to being Rankings app drones and this can easily explain the 1% success rate of those who go D1, MLS or Europe/SA.

you're being naive about playing in Europe. Also, SYC just came on the soccer scene when they took all of LMVSC coaches and players. It's too early tell.

Ok. So how many players has SYC exported to Europe, a MLS academy or played for a youth USMNT (not a camp invite)?

Two. One to a club in Ligue 1 and another to La Liga.

Great! Who are they? I try to follow the DMV products.

The information is publicly available and I am pretty sure it's been discussed here before at one point. They are now in Montpellier and Sevilla academies.

I found the Sevilla player who is in the academy but not the other one. If I can’t find it in 3 minutes, it is not widely known.

I guess they are not professionals if we are not sharing names. I was looking for professionals.

Folks, let’s keep our eyes on the prize. I am not with ASA but the play a quality brand of ball in my kids age group that would lead to a player developing.

From what I see in the bio, the Sevilla guy is more of an Arlington than SYC player. Only spent the last two years with SYC, joined them probably around U17.

Don’t let facts confuse the narrative 😂

I saw that too but could not verify the time he was at Arlington in the 3 minutes I gave to the endeavor.

minimal if any playing time is the same with u17 and u19 baltimore armour. there are kids who start who shouldn’t be compared to other better players. and the coach doesn’t care as long as he wins and he is constantly adding new players who start before other players who have been there for years.

From your research which clubs sent the most kids pro?

Not counting the clubs that received a developed kid from somewhere else and had him for like 1 season.

Thx
