But another frustration is that obvious warning signals were likely missed. When people are suffering from mental health issues and/or on medication with known risks of suicidal ideation and worse, you would hope systems and resources would be in place to help the person and prevent such things.

But yes, this person obviously should not have had a gun.

I am confident if I had a gun sitting in church with my child and someone started shooting, I would f*ucking shoot back. My adrenaline is pumping just thinking about it. And I say this as a 40 some year old woman with no disposition to violence. Now ideally, neither of us would have guns, but alas, this is the type of country we choose to live in apparently.

If everyone in that church had a gun, and you started shooting, guaranteed some of the others would mistake you for the bad guy and take you out.

The people who commit these shootings are not mentally normal and probably shouldn’t be allowed in society. I mean, just go down the list. Charleston Church shooting, parkland, aurora movie theater, the Vegas music festival, sandy hook, and countless others. All anti social and mentally ill.

No citizen should. Period. People are fine before they have mental breakdowns. Our mental health care sucks. All our health care sucks. Even if it didn't, why should anyone have access to automatic weapons?? It doesn't matter what a person's politics are. I am so sick of this. Those poor children.
