Is OP the same poster who was dealing with a Air BnB throwing wild parties every week?
|
|
OP I am light sensitive/can't stand the blue-white new security lighting or headlights that are standard now.
Having said that, buy blackout drapes and wear an eye mask. It's heaven/you wake up on your terms. |
Thank you, finally a sane post. The sense of entitlement on this board is astounding |
Does the county know that they are contributing to light pollution and disturbing migratory patterns of birds? Government doesn't get special exceptions. |
Those lights being on all night probably use less power than the computer used while you were writing your post. Maybe you should stay off Dcum for the sake of the environment. |
| Your neighbor considers safety first. They have the right to have the light on. You are free to install a curtain of your choice. |
| Use your words. Most people are reasonable in the real world. Give them the benefit of the doubt and ask nicely. |
The benefit of the doubt would be assuming they have a reason for the lights, rather than trying to guilt-trip them over the cost of curtains. |
| Get room darkening blinds. I have them and it keeps my bedroom pitch black. I had them custom fitted. |
| Build a giant wall and make your neighbors pay! |
It isn’t just a matter of energy usage as this poster asserted. Fireflies are nearly extinct now, in part due to habitat loss but also a major factor the lack of darkness in our modern communities, which affects many other species beyond our own. It’s not healthy. |
I imagine so but I live in close in Maryland, not Idaho. Every street near me has street lights. |
Come on, now. The neighbor's string lights didn't kill off the fireflies. You know this. |
DP but light pollution does affect their mating abilities and therefore their numbers. |
Yes, please! |
