We have 4 kids so we are always going to be a party of 6.

So you bring 4 messy kids to a restaurant and planned on not tipping?

Fwiw, my kids are teens, but even when they were little they were fine.

I've seen adults leave bigger messes and over the top demanding.

Servers have more to gain from taking 3 deuces with adults being served wine than your 6 with 4 teens. Without automatic gratuity, you risk indifferent service or worse.

You want people handling your food to be enthusiastic about serving you. We’ll leave it at that.

Well. . . the adults get to decide what the kids get to eat and don't haggle over bill splitting. I think the point here is that it is automatic.

I don't like when the bathroom is really dirty or has no soap. I cannot imagine what the kitchen is like!

When salt & pepper are not on the table, or I have to ask for it. Seriously, your food is not that great that it doesn't need salt and/or pepper. Even if it is, I want the spices already on the table!

Restaurants that allow patrons and/or children to have their phone volume on while eating - i.e. FaceTime calls, children watching loud movies, videos. Also, had to quit going to a very good Thai restaurant near me because their takeout order alert on the computer goes off constantly at the threshold of pain and is audible throughout the dining room. And they wonder why no one sits down to eat.
