You are not a hiring official though.

I am a hiring official and would not hire a DRP person. The amount of work they all stuck us with, only to have them return later is insane. The rest of us have barely been hanging on.

You should not be hiring anyone.

I don't think any hiring officials are involved since they are on admin leave.

Anonymous wrote:It was a gamble but the DRP folks made the right choice. Ten people had a nice 6 month paid vacation and will return in October. Most are almost 62 and will work till the 10% pension kicks in. A few are young and have not found another job yet. We are glad to have the staff but as a taxpayer???

I call troll. The DRP contracts forbade returning for a multi year blackout period. And there are statutes backing that part up.

There are no DRP statutes at all. What are you talking about?

Each agency made their own contracts, I think. The was also VSIP offered separately but that one did require a 5 year blackout period so maybe that’s what PP is talking about.

Agree, but even VSIP varies by agency. Mine had a special authority that only requires repayment if you return to my specific agency; you can work at another without repaying.

"I have too much work, but I refuse to hire someone already trained to help with that work." Foolish.

I think you are talking about HR. The hiring official is the person who makes the decision, usually your boss.
