Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS)
| 18:16, you're obviously just trying to antagonize. If you truly believe it's ok to belittle children by calling them "chip-eaters," there's no way to have a rational discussion with you. |
The last I checked, public education is free. On top of that, there are generally free programs both during the school year, and during the summer for poor kids. Again, it's all free....paid for by tax payers who don't rely on the government to take care of them or their families. If these parents/kids don't take advantage of what's in front of them, and just fuck off during school and then can't figure out that a big mac is not healthy for you, then you know what, it's just too bad. Even assuming grown adults can't figure out that KFC isn't as healthy for you as a piece of grilled chicken, there are plenty of free health programs, clinics, that both the city and organizations like NBC-4 offer with their health fairs, then too bad. It's almost already presented to these people on a silver platter. No money for a healthy diet, but plenty of money to wear the $150 Nike shoes and North Face winter parkas. It's sad that you have to make silly excuses for them. |
|
Another good reason why these people should not reproduce until they get educated. Otherwise, they'll just be a burden to the system.
You could not put a finer point on it! |
It's tough to argue with common sense, but reality is that they will continue to produce kids and lots of them, with many different fathers. |
And you're one of those proud taxpayers who doesn't rely on the government to " take care of you," right? My family earned over $400K last year and we paid over $100,000 in federal taxes alone. We are not on government assistance programs, but I rely on the government to take care of me and my family. Taxes are for the common good. I live in a stable democracy that allows me and my husband to have the jobs we have in private industry, that regulates the safety of my food supply as well as the drugs and products I use, that provides highways and infrastructure that I use daily, that maintains a military that protects and defends our country, that provides an independent judiciary system, that provides a public school system, that provides programs i don't use directly but that i consider essential, like assistance to poor families so we don't have to have children begging in the streets, and on and on. So go to some third world country with a barely-functioning, completely corrupt government and let me know how successful you are at taking care of yourself. Curious what your take is on the well-to-do who feed their kids chips. Because let's face it, this isn't about chips, obesity or eating habits. It's about money. I assume you have no problem with the fat kid from McLean with a lawyer dad and lobbyist mom bringing Twinkies in his lunchbox. it's about social class and how you don't want your kids associating with kids from lower social strata. |
| PP at 7:35 - Kudos - ITA with your post. Thanks! |
Is it just me, or am I only the only one who thinks we basically have one poster who keeps responding to his own posts to bait people? There's a better than 50% chance it's the dude who keeps getting banned over on City-Data. |
Wow -- great observation! I didn't put that together, but now that you mention it . . . |
I agree. The person is being intentionally offensive to get a response. |
I made over 650k last year and I love it. I pay the government to take care of me with the military, police, highway, snow service, etc. I don't require special services like welfare, food stamps, etc. and I'm not a drain on the government or society b/c I'm not too lazy to get a job, I didn't goof off during school, and I don't expect a handout from the government. I don't hear about McLean kids having chips and soda for dinner. If you do, then you need to stop feeding your kids that garbage. |
I think you have too much time on your hands. Stick to the topic or don't bother posting. |
I disagree. People are offended by reality. |
Oh, our family has chips & soda for dinner every night! I get the really GOOD chips & soda from Whole Foods - does that make it ok? |
I couldn't care less if your kids ate feces every night. |
| This thread just gets more bizarre with each post . . . . |
