In prayer one needs to have faith in a higher being. If you don't believe then what are you praying to. As suggested earlier, try meditation. |
Why is that? |
|
Prayer is powerful. It’s your opportunity to have a direct conversation with God. I pray in thanks and ask for protection for myself and my family daily. God is always there, always listening OP.
God bless you. |

What this particular person is looking for is meditation.
Prayer hits similar, but it's different in that it requires faith, which is a hard reach for a lot of people. |
We are Muslims and though I'm not religious myself, I feel people who pray regularly, get many benefits other than just a connection with the God. Ones who pray five times a day for spiritual reasons not just doing religious ritual, practice hygiene by keeping clothes clean and doing ablution 5 times a day, recite scripture from heart so good for memory and cognition, prayer motions are light exercise, get therapy by sharing their problems and hoping for blessings, tend to be charitable and kind.If they walk to a mosque to do prayer, they get daily steps, fresh air, sunlight and social interactions. Obviously this isn't limited only to Muslim kind of prayer, every religion has similar benefits woven in their way of praying. If you started doing yours regularly, you'll either feel benefits or stop doing it so no harm in trying if you feel inclined or curious. |

I'm with those who suggest meditation. Also, get plenty of exercise.
Forget religion. It requires belief in a deity and a whole system of supernaturalism that obviously do not come naturally to you. |
Dear OP, the feeling you describe is a call into deeper relationship with God. Yes, you will notice a change when you practice daily prayer and pair it with reading the Bible. Don’t believe me? Prove me wrong. You will experience reduced anxiety about the world’s troubles and greater peace. You will experience healing, protection and miracles. I am in a prayer group and I am blown away each time I check in and learn how about our prayers for each other have been answered. If you are at the beginning of your journey, know you can talk to God just as you would your closest friend. He loves you and knows you better than you know yourself. In the Bible, Thessalonians 5:17 says to never cease in praying. Nothing is too big or small. For example—what should I have for lunch? God bless you! |
I respectfully disagree. This already person recognizes there is a God, a higher power. Where humans run into trouble is trying to carry the weight of the world by themselves, when God is there to carry your burden. |
God is where? In your imagination only |
He loves you and is more real than you or I could ever describe with words. Would you allow me to pray for you? |
What a shame that you think that's there's a supernatural being out there who will carry your burden, but then again, if it makes you feel secure, why not? |
