I find the solid colors often look better than the prints in a jersey, although I’m always tempted by the prints they often look a little cheap.

I have this in the stripe and a print and I love it!

To the pp who said “yuck” to karma east, scroll down! They have some cute stuff but those first few dresses aren’t it.

I tried the Boden dress and wanted to like it but it hits at a really weird length if you’re short. Even in a petite size. Not at all flattering. It would be great if you’re tall and have nice arms. The cap sleeve definitely accentuates your arms.

Title 9 sells a sweaty Betty dress similar to the everlane dress but has a more flattering back for my body type (heavier on top - 34d). It’s fitted enough on top that I can get away with just nipple covers and it has pockets.

I’m not the person you’re responding to but that was my first reaction. I did scroll down and you’re right, there ARE some cute dresses!

i’ve got one of these. saw my neighbor wearing a different color yesterday and she looked fantastic.

i have that one in two colors and i’ve never gotten so many compliments on a dress. also has pockets. the skirt part gets very wrinkly after a wash so either be ready to iron or be ready to walk around with some wrinkles.

The Everlane one is REALLY cute.

How is the sizing? I am generally a small -- 5'5" and about 125 pounds. Let me know if you have any guidance!

Right??? I have the Vivien dress and I love it. I wore it the other day and one of the other moms stopped me at drop off to tell me how cute it was and I got multiple compliments at the office. They really do themselves a disservice having that particular style at the top of their dress page!

+1 I got the gray/white striped and the cream. I am short and normally wear a 4 in dresses. The XS fit great (might be tight on top if you have a larger chest) and didn't swallow me up like most dresses of this general shape. The cream one is fully lined, which is nice, but makes it heavier. I like the striped one the best by far. Light, not see-through, can wear a normal bra -- win!

I also have the shorter version of this dress and love it for vacation but it's a bit shorter than I would wear around town.

Can you wear a bra under the everlane dress?

Yes you can!

Hmm I'm 5'2 and I got the petite size. It hits right above the knees which I think looks fine.

I ordered a Vivien dress that was on sale after being inspired by your post. Excited!

How do people feel about faherty brand in general? I look at some of the dresses but the price point seems too much.

Variants of that Everlane dress seem to be everywhere this year.

I knew what it had to be before clicking the link from your comment alone.

i’m the one who suggested it and i didn’t know! i got mine last year and really love them.

i’m also the one who suggested karma east a while ago - the australian dress company. they make block print cotton dresses that mrs roper would wear if she taught kindergarten. i wear a lot of karma east in the summer. women compliment the dresses; men never go. i love them.

Thank you! I just got my first order delivered and I love the quality and fabric. It is well made and cotton is airy and light, perfect for the summer. If you know how to pick what fits you well, cannot go wrong with these dresses. I'll be ordering more for sure.

I agree that is super cute.

But hand wash separately and line dry in shade? For cotton? Why? Why is it so fussy?

I love this and it has pockets and is super comfortable. Usually sales run for 25% off so can get it around 150.

Etsy has a ton of linen dresses that would meet this criterion. The closer you get to the top of your budget, the better the quality. Look for a ship that uses at least 200 gsm or blended with another fiber.
