The 18 schools supporting Harvard

You don't want to many parties on one brief because then it's redundant and the brief doesn't represent all the parties' actual concerns and arguments.

That’s not really an accurate approach to amici. It is helpful to have many respected voices on the same brief — it’s not redundant if it’s one brief — and the fact that many institutions can come together in agreement in one voice is significant. So a good amicus brief will represent all the amici (they aren’t parties) actual concerns and arguments.

Just shows how widespread the antisemitism is in this country. Disgraceful, and all these naive, gullible alumni acting like this is something to be proud of.

I don't think it’s about being 'antisemitism'...

The universities claim that “the federal funding terminations challenged in this lawsuit inflict grievous harm that extends well beyond Harvard University,” arguing that academic research is an interconnected enterprise. The elimination of funding at Harvard negatively impacts the entire ecosystem. The cuts will disrupt ongoing research, ruin experiments and datasets, destroy the careers of aspiring scientists, and deter long-term investments at universities across the country."

You are the disgrace, allowing propagandists to convince you that the attack on universities is really about antisemitism. Following Putin’s lead. Smh.

A group of the nation’s leading research universities has requested that a federal judge allow them to file a legal brief supporting Harvard University’s lawsuit against the Trump administration over more than $2 billion in frozen federal grant money.

The 18 institutions requesting permission to file an amicus curiae (or “friend of the court”) brief are:

Boston University;
Brown University;
California Institute of Technology;
Colorado State University;
Dartmouth College;
Johns Hopkins University;
Massachusetts Institute of Technology;
Michigan State University;
Oregon State University;
Princeton University;
Rice University;
Rutgers University;
Tufts University;
University of Maryland, College Park;
University of Oregon;
University of Pennsylvania;
University of Pittsburgh; and
Yale University.

Yeah. All those people that didn’t want to push back at Hitler ….

The California university system did nothing and he’s targeting them now.

You can’t be a wuss. Pitiful.

“We must, indeed, all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.”

Benjamin Franklin

LOL ! Exaggerate much ?

President Trump will shift his focus elsewhere if schools give him some respect. Compromise. Only 3.5 years remaking in President Trump's presidency.

The universities sitting back will learn from the Harvard and Columbia situations, then can proceed in a reasonable manner.

At least half the nation supports President Trump.

China has been at war with the US for many years. Several Harvard professors sold US funded research to China. There should be some penalties.

Are they tasty, the boots you seem so ready to lick?

Gross.

Those who bend the knee rationalize their actions as simply a prudent survival strategy. But that’s delusory, for the historical record shows that anticipatory compliance paves the road to autocracy. Bullies like Trump always demand more from their supplicants – more money, more abandoning principles, more loyalty-oath behavior. Anticipatory compliance feeds the beast, showing authoritarians how much they can get away with.

I now live out of the DC and am proud to say I work at one of the amici universities. This support is absolutely vital. We have to push back on all fronts against this administration’s misuse of power.

You should relocate to your real country.

They are laughing at you as they distract you from more important things.

They don't believe in democracy, and they certainly won't be persuaded by facta or logic or history.

These are the people that tried to assassinate the Vice President to prevent an election from being certified.

I would also advise those sympathetic to MAGA movement to not engage in "debate" with those that continue to believe that the US is a "democracy". Yes we know - you love your "democracy", but only when the "majority" is composed of those on the left, because no one else can be trusted with power...

The country was far from perfect but doing pretty well. Then MAGA had to ruin it. I wish you all would have just left. Move to Texas and secede and start your own country. You are all full of such hate. Biden had plenty of flaws but tried really hard to unify this country. Which was impossible given what he was dealing with. Trump sees it as us against them. Within our own country. That is truly sick. Fat pathetic impotent loser.

It's not really anti-Semitism. It's simply a new front in the persistent neo_marxist "oppressor vs oppressed" ideology. No one in their right mind supports a brutal terrorist regime like Hamas - an organization that uses innocents as human shields or that steals humanitarian aid for their own people to enrich themselves. This latest front is merely a pivot away from the most recent failures - like gender theory.

It's all packaged the same, just with different targets. We've had the 99 percenters, the climate terrorists, the anti-capitalists, BLM and Critical Race Theory, gender wars...now we are back to the Zionists...it never ends with these people. In all cases, the target of leftist rage is an "oppressor", and the "oppressor" du jour is Israel in Gaza.

Good luck engaging is serious dialogue with people that have no interest in solving any problems outside of their warped "oppressor- oppressed" framework.
