I will never forget the time i walked into the Springfield Target bathrooms, and it looked like a poop crime scene in every stall. The whole bathroom should have been blocked off. It was so gross. Also, what kinds of people don't clean up after themselves in a public bathroom?! |
Maybe the women’s bathroom. But the men’s bathroom is a disaster zone - pee and poop all over the walls and floor. |
Shocked at the target suggestions. I hate their bathrooms. Always smell and never clean. |

Sheetz on our roadtrips are great! |
There is a high correlation between the kind of people who poop and public and those who create biowaste hazard zones in the same bathrooms. |
Yes. My husband who drinks more water than any other human swears by Sheetz. |
On road trips we do Starbucks if possible, if not McDonald's. In cities, nice hotels. |
Definitely hotel lobbies. This is my favorite trick on road trips with small children.
DC specific but those automated public restrooms down by Navy Yard are surprisingly nice and clean. Wish we saw more of those. |
Yeah, hotel lobbies are always good. Walk in like you own it and I've never had anyone question me.
Starbucks is generally good. I was walking back from a bite to eat while waiting for my car to be serviced and Starbucks was a savior! It's been hit or miss with Sheetz and WaWa type places - if you find one that is pretty good, note it and will generally will stay that way. |
Really- Starbucks? I have never tried them on roadtrips. In cities they're so, so bad. Usually there's only one single stall and sometimes you have to get a key from the manager (because people like to do drugs in them). I stopped trying there. |
+1 It’s so disgusting. |
Really? Both are always so nasty and smelly. |
If you have the time, go to any college & stroll into any building that’s open. Works better in non-urban settings. |
Buccees has the cleanest restrooms. They have staff in there cleaning everything 24/7. Nothing compares to it. |
