Also good debate where sometimes you can be seen more and develop more as a top player on an RL team versus player 18/19 on an ECNL team that plays rarely and sometimes doesn't even dress for games. |
Most of the players in second tier leagues (RL, Aspire) have no intention of playing college soccer. They just enjoy playing soccer at an appropriate level. Why on earth would anyone call them "trash"? What does any of this have to do with feeling better about myself? Just because you equate status of your kids with success does not mean most people do. That's your issue. Where are all these parents flexing on their kids soccer leagues? I'm just not seeing it. I think when you say "so parents feel better" you are just talking about yourself. |
Don’t pay these people any mind. It’s wasted energy. They are so far off the deep end there is no coming back. I suspect it’s a combination of insecurity, lack of their own success-now living vicariously through their kids, and spending a shit load of time and money knowing at least subconsciously the return will not be there. Honestly, I would be miserable too and lashing out on message boards. |
it comes down to paying the same amount of money for less. There are plenty of other leagues kids can play for. RL and Aspire are parent alphabet soup. |

There aren't plenty of other league's where I live... the drop in the level between RL and the next league/team is significant. |
