Comparing offers

I think Club A sounds worth the drive. Once DC starts driving you can use the commute for practice hours toward licensing and then he can drive himself once licensed.

That might be the initial impression. But coaches change their mind once they have the players in front of them and see them in action during their controlled training environment.

I say go with Club B. Closer. More playing time.

Maybe club B coach is loyal to his players and didnt offer spots to new players until current players declined.

Go where your player is likely to get more time. It’s tough driving far just for them to sit on the bench of a more competitive team.

I hate tryouts. I hate all team sports, and the emotional roller coaster that comes with them. My youngest is playing low-key tennis and golf.

They were open to Club B before tryouts, but now they want Club A. But I'm the one doing all the driving.

If the first team is that good how do you know your kid will play off the bat ? You will hate driving out there for 5 minutes of time .

Don't know how much further your drive would be, but you should choose the best team for your kid... the better team should have better coaching and better competition, if your kid is good, they will get better playing on this team.
