Anyone making purchases (besides cars) in anticipation of the tariffs?

We aren’t discussing emotional buying. We’re discussing the rational decision to buy now what you know you will need later because it’s cheaper now. No different than buying the 35 cans of Diet Coke at Costco instead of buying them one at a time at the 7-11.

I bought a luxury handbag, some jewelry and a few Amazon things I’d been considering. My phone could use an upgrade but I’m waiting because I don’t need it now.

Bought a dishwasher and considering a new HVAC.

Bought two kitchen appliances. Decided no on remodeling because it's too much cost right now and prices may go up more and decided to get these before prices rise and live with what we have.

a bunch of paper products (tp, paper towels, etc), flour and oats, and about 3 extra months of bp meds and ozempic.

i'm still wearing 10-30yo clothing, the only thing that really wears out on me are winter socks.

We needed new phones anyhow, so purchased after the election in November.

I've just stocked up on dry goods from the grocery store for whatever sh*tshow is probably coming, in case we have to hunker down again.

Also stocking up on medications when possible, like prescription over the counter stuff, in case of tariffs and / or quality issues from lack of oversight.

We upgraded our HVAC last fall and so glad we did. You should definitely do it. You don't want to be in a situation where it breaks down and you have few choices.

We bought 36 solar panels in December in anticipation of changes. This was for a project we were planning in the 1-2 year time frame but decided to pull the trigger when things were veering off.
