Why so much hype for Middlebury? The school is small, can’t be more than 2 or 3 kids from DMV that are actually attending currently.

Because it is a great school with excellent outcomes. It does seem to be a hard admit from the DMV with only about 20 kids ending up there in any given year.

Students with an interest in finance who decide that economics represents the right path for them may benefit from giving preference to colleges with economics departments with available courses in topics such as accounting, corporate finance, international finance, financial economics and financial econometrics.

Good point especially accounting that explains why a school like Holy Cross which has accounting degree does very well in placing grads in corporate world(not HC alum). Most top 25 LAC ‘s don’t offer accounting.
