As a former Floridian, I'm not understanding the "too cold to swim" posts. Just being at the beach for a change of scenery is nice enough. |
OP is going to need to clarify "reasonable driving distance" and not spending "too much."
This is going to mean different things to different people, as evidenced by some of the replies. One PP thinks Miami is "driving distance." I personally wouldn't drive anywhere more than 8 hours away unless I was moving there permanently! |
Depends on weather. I went to OuterBanks a few years ago on a last minute vacation for Spring Break as Weather was good. I stayed at a hotel with an indoor pool.
I waited to see weather. It was nice enough to lay on beach, put toes in Ocean. No swimming as water cold, we went to restaurants. I could see Virginia Beach also being good. But very weather dependent. Next week is warm so maybe. And off peak prices and drove so affordable. |
