Time cards only ask if you’ve worked 8 hours. If you did, it’s not time card fraud.
No time cards say anything about lunch. |
Our time cards have us list a start and end time. Not sure why as it’s not standard across the entire Department. |
| I’m sorry I don’t have the link handy but at least at my agency (Commerce) they did away with the requirement of taking 1/2 hour lunch if you are Maxiflex. If I’m in the office, I’m in for exactly 8 hrs, I don’t badge out, and I report 8 hrs on my timesheet. |
My guess would be because you're a truly hourly employee. Most higher GS grades are salaried and often do not get comp time unless approved by agency leadership. For some of the lower GS grades, comp time is mandatory for any hour over 8. |
Obviously you cannot do that. |
DP, I’m GS and definitely not hourly but at least when we request time off we have to put in start and end times. My weekly time cards does not have start and end times, though. |
Assuming you’re talking about professional fed jobs, if your employees are getting their work done, why does this matter? |
Obviously you should read the full thread before noting that you "cannot" do that. |
Requesting time off needs hourly notation because you could be asking for an hour or several and you'd have to note when you're taking it. The time system that we use don't account for lunch at all. But it's my understanding that in some agency system, you have to account for lunch. It's frankly all over the place so another reason to think that it is not a real requirement and just agency manifested. |
