Lots of people in this world are happy without making big money doing what they love

Many are unhappy with big income

Almost no one with a big income is unhappy about the income. No one without a big income is happy with their income.

You just can't even imagine a person being happy without what society tells you they need to be happy in way of money. That's funny

I'm sure PP meant they are unhappy even though they have a big income

No they are not. Not from boarding schools and IMG is largely a joke.

"NO THEY ARE NOT" <--You forgot to use the whiney font. You don't know what you're talking about. Elite boarding schools have hookups and pathways you don't know about if you don't have money.

DC United Rookie J Murrell attending a a pretty nice private boarding school, just under $200k to attend.

Also, what did you say about IMG? It's a joke? Its only 90k per year to attend....

Most or all those guys are after MLS Next was formed along with free MLS Club academies nationwide

All top players at IMG are on scholarships

Anyone who says its "only $90K" can't be taken seriously

Many of those players are getting scholarships at IMG

And others attended the U.S. Soccer Residency Program (which is not there anymore). That is completely different than going to "school school" at IMG.

...but still, you can buy your way into the back door. And if you develop, sure scholarship.

We have agents talking to our daughter (she's been training w a NWSL team for months). Top rookies can expect around $90-$120K a year in the NWSL.

Unless my kid can get at least that, she's going to to a great college this year and getting a free education (while playing soccer).

Lots and Lots and Lots of NRIs train with NWSL teams. Very few make it. Write back when she signs.

Serious post, that is great to hear. I have a DD and was wondering how girls get identified to train with the team? I have heard of talented teenage girls being invited to train with one or multiple NWSL clubs even and I have heard they were all insider invitations. (But that makes for a juicy rumor from sour grapes parents.) Can you share the path to get a look/ invite to train with a NWSL team? (My DD is 13, so there is time yet... but curious.) -Thanks.

If you are this lucky, you are golden...you will probably receive a full D1 ride and/ or have the option to have a look to go pro early these days. It's much harder to get on the USYNT camp than it is to receive an invite as a non rostered player.

Serious response to a serious post.

College soccer will hurt your DD’s professional career. Women’s professional soccer has existed the college-to-pro pathway, conventional wisdom has not caught up.

DD also trains with and NWSL team, a European top-league professional club in the summers, and is YNT. Also has agent and a scout / consultant that has helped us navigate.

If your DD wants to play pro at highest levels, with best remuneration, she has to skip college soccer.
