Cheap (non-National Park) travel recs for this summer, please

I agree with Canada. The exchange rate is favorable to Americans, which makes it a bit cheaper. And there's so much to do. If you're looking for something rural, we just loved Tadoussac! It's quite a far drive but wonderful hiking, whale watching, etc. Gorgeous. And you can combine with with Quebec City and/or Montreal if you want to do city stuff as well.

Watkins Glen and Letchworth State Parks are great in NY state.

It is shocking to me how ignorant most people are about our own country. You can literally choose any area of the US and plan a great vacation. Including near both of these parks.
