Yes - but PP isn't wrong about Atlanta, either. |
Agreed, it probably is a lower percentile as the reason. Does WashU do letters for every applicant then? Their stats page doesn’t mention it as a qualifier |
Yes, they do. I remember them saying so several years ago. Also Johns Hopkins med rate is 65% and they don't do committee letters. There's no logical reason for washu to have a higher rate than JHU other than the committee letter being the difference. |
| I also know a few students from Emory get into medschool without a committee letter. Most went DO however. |
|
Also pp was correct, Emory students GPA is about a 3.7
So it seems like Emory had grade inflation vs WashUs deflation. https://news.emory.edu/features/2023/05/er_commencement_hub-04-05-2023/index.html |
The 25th is lower at Emory because more students submit scores |
| I don’t know anything about Wash U., except that it’s a great school. Emory is also strong in several humanities areas and premed kids there can enjoy courses in those areas. Emory may also be good for someone with a strong interest in global health/public health. |
