Gold digging? Girl has Marvel money.

She has Marvel money twice over (Spiderverse and Hawkeye). She was nominated for an Oscar at 14. Calling her a gold digger is something else.

He’s worth exponentially more than she is. He’s a hick worth hundreds of millions of dollars. A Hollywood actress is only talking to a hick because she googled his contract.

Somehow I doubt that. You may not find him attractive or appealing but someone who has 20 million doesn't need to marry money.

lol. You are clueless.

You really think a person with tens of millions of dollars needs to marry money?

I remember some idiots were saying Taylor Swift was a gold digger. She's literally a billionaire. People will apparently call any woman a gold digger.

She is not worth "tens of millions of dollars." She lives in a modest $2m house. Allen's contract pays him $32 MILLION CASH EVERY SEASON, plus endorsements. That is another stratosphere. She orbited this dumb jock hick for his money, period.

I'm so confused by this stuff. Do you know these people? The idea you know intimate stuff about this person bases solely on income is bizarre.

The jock gives interviews. He's a hick who grew up on a farm. Nothing wrong with that but to pretend a pretentious Hollywood actress is genuinely into him is comical. She's into him because he's filthy rich.

And this is bad?

Would he have looked at her twice if she was a nobody with nothing? Evidently not since he dumped his ex.

Why is he into her? or do you think he was tricked into proposing?

Yes, I'd assume it's quite easy for a professional actress to "trick" a hick raised on a farm who probably has CTE from numerous concussions.

Is this bad? Is an actress duping a dumb jock into marrying her bad? I mean, I don't really care, I don't know him. Were he my son or something, yeah, I'd think it was bad he was such an easy mark and he's marrying a conniver.

I mean her first breakout role was in a western? Maybe she likes farm guys. It's super weird you think you know this person's inner thoughts.

This thread is bizarre. Also, why would you assume Josh Allen is dumb?

Read about his background. Hailed can do better. Probably a 2 or 3 year marriage, if that.

The ex-girlfriend sounds like a wild one. Here’s her IG comment….shes now claiming she was “hacked” lol 😆

Steinfeld actually seems much more down to earth than Allen's ex, who is an Instagram influencer. If anyone was after Allen for the money and fame, I would guess it was the non-famous lady who makes money off of posting photos of herself online, not the Hollywood actress with an established career and a recurring role in Marvel TV shows and movies.

Also Allen and his ex weren't exactly high school sweethearts. They were sort of set up by their mom's when they were around 17. I don't think they went to the same high school. They went to different colleges (him Wyoming and her Fresno State). They are described as "on again, off again." She moved to Buffalo with him when he was drafted and I'm sure it was comforting for him to have a familiar person in his life as he adjusted to being an NFL QB. But she sounds shallow and fame hungry. They were really only together (as in actually living in the same place and officially dating) a few years before they broke up for good. They didn't have some great love story. I suspect she was using him to boost her own profile and he eventually got sick of it and broke it off for good.

I can see the appeal of someone like Steinfeld who was famous before they met and will be both unfazed and unimpressed by his fame, but can actually help navigating gate it since she's been in the public eye her whole life. Like they seem pretty equally matched in terms of success and having somewhat demanding jobs but also lots of downtown time between seasons/acting gigs.

+1 That's how it happens though. A man who strings along a woman for a long time without marriage just isn't into her. Women need to be smart and break up if the relationship isn't moving forward the way they want, not plod along with moving in together, getting pets, god forbid babies, etc.

I agree. I think a max of two years if you are in your mid-20s is long enough.

+1 And if he's not broaching the topic of marriage within 6-12 months, then leave. A man who's madly in love with a woman doesn't need prodding.

Back in the day, I lived in a group house. Two of our roommates went to college together and had a tight-knit group of friends in the area. The female roommate was in a sorority with a female who dated a guy on and off for 10 years who was in a fraternity with our male roommate.

The guy was stringing her along. He would come over and talk to the male roommate about all the things he didn't like about her. He would downplay the relationship and say it wasn't serious. Once he called her psycho and our roommate told him that he was making her psycho. He always dangled a carrot in front of her - if she would just fix X then they could move forward. But these ever-changing goal posts were just an excuse to avoid committing to her.

Then she would come over to talk to our female roommate to work earnestly on trying to fix whatever the X of the day was. Their conversations were totally different. Her version was they were madly in love and didn't need marriage to prove it (because that's the lie he told her). According to her, they were inevitably getting married and just had some hurdles to clear first. She had no idea about the horrible things he would say about her behind her back. He finally broke up with her for good, but only after wasting her best years.

Another couple was engaged for over a decade and he always had a reason to avoid getting married. For years he claimed that he just didn't know what type of wedding he wanted. She bought it (dumbass). They bought a rowhouse together had two kids while he's still talking about finding the right person behind her back. He complained behind her back about her pressuring him into having kids. He said he didn't want them after they were born (but not to her, obviously). They did fertility treatments to have those kids! It's not like he was tricked into it.

I lost track of them but they just kept moving forward without marriage. She was deluding herself into thinking they're in love but just unconventional. He deluded himself into thinking he's still on the market to find Mrs. Right even while buying a home together, having kids, etc. with someone else.
Why get married? Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn haven’t married and have probably the best Hollywood relationship out there. Furthermore, Josh Allen is known to be amazing to his fans.

It's highly likely the guy does have CTE. Do you watch football? He's suffered from concussions his entire career. And it's not like rich pro athletes are known marks. Spare me that the actress has her own millions, she doesn't have HUNDREDS of millions.

But a successful actress like Steinfeld could marry any number of rich guys. There are plenty of men with similar incomes to Allen's, plus others with significantly more in terms of inherited wealth or investment income, who I'm sure would be happy to go out with an actress like Steinfeld. There is no reason for her to "mark" someone like Allen -- she's young, successful, and has her own money. She's a catch.

Also Allen has to spend half the year living in Buffalo. And Steinfeld goes to all his home games and attends team and charitable events with him there. Would she really do that if she was just after his money? She could find a rich guy in LA or NYC who is not contractually required to be in Buffalo all the time if all she wanted was access to funds.

As for CTE, I don't know. A lot of football players probably have it. But lots of people have issues. My DH has some neurological issues that showed up in his 40s and are likely genetic. He never played football. If you really love someone are you going to ditch them because they might have a job-related injury that could be a challenge down the road? Is someone a golddigger if they marry someone with a family history of early-onset Alzheimers or MS?

If the ex actually wrote that post on Instagram, I suspect she's the one who was gold digging and is mad it didn't work. Because that's a pretty cynical take.

He's probably well rid of his ex but I have to admit I'd be salty too if I stuck with a guy for a decade or whatever it was, and he traded up as soon as he made it big.

Buffalo in the winter, no less.
