All these posts not only in this thread should include gender (which yours does), race or ethnicity, geographic location from where student is coming, intended major when applying if required by that college, personality style, extracurricular interests.

OP here: To give a bit more context, DD plans to double major in Environmental Science and Dance. She's artistic, musical, outdoorsy, and somewhat shy but eager to make friends. While she's not a competitive athlete, dance is very athletic, and she appreciates the discipline and focus of other athletes. She's not a partier and she's lived a fairly sheltered life in the dance studio with mostly girls. She's looking forward to meeting boys but has no experience in that arena. She's very liberal but not terribly outspoken. She is not interested in Greek life at all.

My DD is a sophomore there and loves it. I'd say here are pros and cons.
pros: Committed, excellent faculty that care about the students, are always available and its the type school that if you don't show up for class one day, they write you to ask if you're ok. Great advising system -- student and faculty. Great academic support programs if you need it. Beautiful campus, great club scene. Gorgeous location in between the river and the ocean. And finally, very convenient travel options.
Downsides: Social life is NOT all on campus and I wish it was. Plenty of kids are out at the bars in New London and Mystic, or driving to New Haven or Providence. The social scene seems very dependent on whether you're an athlete, a singer, a gamer, etc. Maybe this is the same at all colleges, but there is not dorm life social life.
Several of the dorms are dated and need work.

I would love to introduce her to my DD who is there!

Trinity is too ruled by drinking and Greek Life. Not like Conn at all.

I think Conn is fantastic. Clearly based on this thread, it's not for everyone, but I think the campus is beautiful. From spots on campus you have river and ocean views. The old stone buildings are beautiful. And the administration and professors are top notch AND caring and engaged. IF you want a campus where you feel your kid is in good hands. this is it.

You just better wear body armor if you set foot off campus, lmao.

Environmental Science and Dance are two of their top majors.
