| We looked in FL for spring break and are going west instead, it’s a lot cheaper. Florida isn’t worth it. |
I’ve liked the St James and One Aldwych. Browns was lovely but expensive and the room quite small. For quirky but charming I like the Lime Tree in Belgravia although it has been sold since I was there a couple of years ago. |
We just booked a one bedroom villa at the Hyatt Vacation Club at Hacienda Del Mar in Puerto Rico for the week after Christmas at $495.20 / night. It’s on the beach and seems pretty decent. |
These are still expensive hotels though. Just small expensive hotels. |
| You could always try a Hilton garden inn |
January things are slow here. Tourism is lighter after Christmas / New Years. It picks up Feb and March for sb. |
| We rather do Airbnb and get a larger place with more room for less and we can hire help |
| I don’t pay those prices (but have a small famil). But I am hating more than expected this year. My B&B in St John is charging a cleaning fee, which is outrageous to me. It is not an AirBnB! |
Yes, but not four seasons or claridges level while still being nice hotels in good locations. |
But still at the $700 or above price point OP is complaining about. |
FWIW, I'm not Op, and I am the PP who asked for the recs on the London hotels. And I appreciate them -- yes, they are expensive, but London is expensive and as that poster points out -- they are not Claridge's expensive. |
No, I want a level under ritz for under $700. Now I know that it’s not going to happy until I go to a Hilton, which I’m not doing. |
You hire help on vacation? Which third world country is this? |
Awesome. Construction noise at 7:30 am on vacation. Sounds lovely. |
Construction crews next door to the resort will be off for the holidays – not returning to the jobsite until January 6, long after we’ve returned home. Will be whisper quiet during our stay, especially thanks to all the morons like you that believe everything you read at face value and avoid the resort entirely as a result. DH and I have lost count of the number of spectacular vacations we’ve enjoyed at the grace of the masses’ unbridled fear and stupidity! 🙏 |
