This is OP: we are looking at western parts of Virginia (Loudoun/Fauquier). What do you know about OCCS and NCAP-West? |
NCAP West is one of NCAPs best sites, if not the best. However, the high performing 11-12s have 2 early am weekday practices per week and the high performing 13-14s have 3 early am weekday practices per week. So if you’re trying to avoid early am practices, it’s probably not the place for you. |
Below is the link where you can access this year’s practice schedules for Bronze 1 (high performance 11-12) and Silver (high performance 13-14). https://www.ncapswim.com/freedom-center |
OCCS is more south- lorton/manassas. But they do have afternoon practices for all but the highest group. https://static1.squarespace.com/static/657fa9ae9cb4d135c5876ea7/t/66d4f31fd7ae3a17d71acd8f/1725231903366/2024-2025+OCCS+Team+Calendar.pdf |
Lorton is in Fairfax County and no one from Fairfax County is trying to cross over to Prince William County with rush hour traffic for practice. |
All of the OCCS practice locations are in either PWC or Fauquier. Among the locations they practice at are Freedom Center and the WARF in Warrenton, which are also facilities where NCAP-West practices. If the time of practices being in the afternoon is paramount to OP, OCCS is the winner. If that isn’t the primary consideration, I would definitely pick NCAP-West over OCCS. |
