You can dress well without spending a ton of money if you are open to resale and secondhand. Also buy based on fabric. Levi’s look great if you buy 100% cotton. Vintage wool is often better than any sweater you can buy for less than $200.

Sure, though this is more for practical dressing imo. I live in my vintage 501s but I wouldn't call them "smart"

Or maybe I just don't know what "smart" means... to me it means clean lines and good tailoring. So a wide-leg trouser-style jean over vintage Levis
