I like Zaid, Noah, and ...
Caleb (arguably nn Charlie by mom? )
also: Gideon Malachi Cyrus Elias Nathan Joel (one syllable though) Jonah Thaddeus (nn Teddy, sort of like Charlie) (deleting lots of one syllable names, as you are right about the flow especially with an H last name!) |
Op here. Thanks. I like one syllable names. |
Are you Muslim or Arab? I’m Muslim, and I have never met a non-Muslim Zaid/Zayd, as I previously stated. |
If you have never met one, then it means none exist among the 450 million Arabs 🙄 |
OP here. Our last name is very common, and most Americans will know it's most likely Muslim. We spell the first name Zaid and haven't had issues with people pronouncing it wrong. Sometimes our surname is pronounced Hasen. Zaid is rare in the US but seems to be an easy name for others to pronounce. It's similar to Zain/ Zane. I have grown to like Rhys and think we are going to go with that name. |
Have you met one? |
Actually not that rare. Just generally a Muslim name. Zaid is not the traditional spelling. |
| Abe. As in Abraham |
| My Turkish friend as an Emir (Amir) |
i LOVE the name benjamin and think its a shame BUT that being said, 40 thousad dead b/c of a benjamin right now. everyone who met this baby would think of a mass murderer right now. maybe after netenyahu is dead. Its sad, just like Ussama is a beautiful name but, i would be a little surprised if someone used it and the original Usama (son if Zaid) deserves for people to be named after him. associations with certain evil people sometimes override other considerations. I mean we still use Joseph despite Stalin, so hopefully we'll be able to get over it. Zachariah is a good compromise bc its literally the same name. |

Rhys is horrible with Zaid and Noah.
|
They aren't twins
|
OP here. It has been our experience that it's rare in the cities/ states we have lived in. He has never had another Zaid in his class, activities etc. but we have lived in a school districts with very few Muslims. In our current school district the Muslim population would be less then 3. |
| Adam is the most universal name, Jewish, Muslim, and Christian. I chose it for that reason. But it has 2 syllables |
I know several actually. But here is one, don’t know personally, but he’s definitely Christian: https://detroitpriestlyvocations.com/father-zaid-chabaan-testimonial/ |
