COVID protocols

Why overthink it?

Because my kids' school has conflicting guidance. Trying to figure out the norm here.

The norm is to not test and treat it like any other illness. NP, but don't over think it.

No one else in the world (literally) cares about covid anymore. Just the DMV covidians.

No, its best to test so you know what you are dealing with and if it gets worse doctors know to treat.

Wear a mask until testing negative.

This! Please mask until testing negative.

Weird.

What’s weird about it?

It's not 2020 anymore. Get the shots and covid won't get you very sick. Masks aren't needed. And any benefit is minimal when people are most infectious before they typically know they even have covid.

Gee, maybe someone should tell my vaccinated, very-sick-from-long-COVID-after-Omicron spouse. He can’t be upright for more than an hour at a time.

You’re full of it, is my point.

My parent died a year ago of covid. They would have been fine except for the covid. They had the max number of shots they could get. I don't think the shots do much.

Based on the typical demographics of dcum, you're probably moderately old. That would have made your parent very old. They weren't fine before covid.

You treat the symptoms of viral infections. That it may have been covid that caused those systems wouldn't be particularly relevant for treatment purposes.

I cannot figure out what the new COVID protocols are. According to the CDC, it looks like you can go out in public 24 hours after you are fever free and asympomatic. Is that right? What are we supposed to do?

No, the cdc doesn’t say that. It’s says stay home for 5 days.

What year do you think it is? And did you just wake up from a two-year-long coma?
