Better yet, just mash it into a paste and go to school to spoon feed it yourself. You don't want him poking himself in the eye. |
I don't eat the pit of cherries, of that's what you're asking. I pit them, but don't cut them. There is a tool for that. |

I cannot even with this thread. If you are asking these types of questions seriously as the mother of a six yo, there is no hope for you once they hit the teenage years.

He must the the one in diapers too. |
| Iwould cut them or not send them, due to my anxieties. |
You might be SN yourself. |
Well, applesauce is a thing, so why not grapesauce? |
No hun, that's not a worry with teens. Enjoy slicing down these poor elem. parents with your quick wit. |
| I knew a 7yo who died choking on a whole grape (I was a kid at the time). I still cut them for my kids if I'm not with them to make sure they're sitting down. Grapes are notoriously awful. They are perfectly sized to be lodged in your wind pipe and often can be removed via Heimlich. It's not overreacting to be careful. |
*Often CAN'T be removed |
| This thread is the most unhinged thing I’ve ever read on dcum, do better. |
| When my DD was that age, if they were really big I would cut them in half. Or I’d look to buy smaller ones. There’s nothing wrong with cutting them, though, and it doesn’t take that much time. |
| Mother of a 7yr old. I still cut her grapes. I'm surprised by some of these responses. |
| I don't know if the OP knows this, but schools sometimes serve packs of grapes with lunch. |
| I have never sent grapes for school lunch. It’s too dangerous when the kids are talking. I even cut them at home until they were about 11 years old. |
