So you've read it? |
WTF? I hate religious nutters trying to force their beliefs on everyone else. |
You should read a dictionary. This book is not “pornography”. |
You can thank Moms for Liberty and all the ridiculous book bans the far right is pushing on everyone else.
If you are actually concerned and not just trying to stir up some drama, call the school and ask what book required the notice. |
it is prob something banal. did they not incl examples?
bc the republicans freak out re culture, arts and general engagement in learning things, they have to do this. they are fundamentalists who are freightened of enlightenment. |
Worst moronic governor in Virginia’s history |
Yeah because giving a heads up to parents about what their kids might be assigned to read is sooo dumb. But then people like you complain when parents are disconnected. Which is it? |
Me too....the republicans love control. |
Romeo and Juliet isn’t a classic? |
I appreciate the notice. I don’t believe age appropriate books or movies is or should be considered banning. I am not in Moms of Liberty. |
Oh noez, not "the bawdy prick of noon"! I was thinking that was it... |
is there anyone on dcum young enough to quickly make a video where Annie’s book banning monologue from Field of Dreams runs into Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl? |
Here is my question to any parent worried about what their kid might read in school: does your kid have a phone or a device with the internet on it? If so, your child has EASY access to the most horrific things on it, the worst porn, etc. it is EASY for kids to circumvent parental controls. So, unless you are willing to eliminate phones ,Internet and cable in your house, you are a hypocrite |
Are you okay with a teacher handing your kid a copy of penthouse….for the articles? Because that’s essentially what this book is. Why is it so hard for you to get the difference between kids being “allowed to” read what they want and being REQUIRED to read porn for a grade??? |
m It’s not a matter of whether they have access or CAN get it if they want to. It’s a matter of a teacher saying “open your books to this explicit material. Let’s discuss it. How does it make you feel? What do you think the author is thinking about or wanting to convey to the reader as she describes this intimate masturbation scene? Now let’s take a quiz on it…” If you don’t get how that is different from “everyone with a phone has access to porn” then I can’t help you. |
