| Didn’t you whine to Daily Mail as well? |
|
No one is focusing on the right thing here…
OP, the show was amazing!!! At least the grainy live stream we watched surprise songs on was. Mirrorball AND New Year’s Day??? I hope you were able to enjoy that! We went last year but if I could afford it I would have taken us this year to see the new Tortured Poets set. Female Rage:The Musical🤍 |
People are being harsh to OP because she had a couple of one off bad experiences (which could have happened anywhere) and in response is taking to the internet to write off and demean an entire country. She comes across as extremely immature and inept. |
OP is getting hate because she chose to frame this as "I hate Poland. Everyone tries to scam you." If she'd just put up a post about some frustrating travel experiences people would commiserate more. It's DCUM so some posters would still be condescending or say it was her fault but there would be less vitriol. But OP is blaming the country of Poland for a couple bad experiences with (US-based!) corporations and one bad cabbie. That's ridiculous and not the attitude of any seasoned traveler. I mean, every time I go to Mexico I get people trying to trick me into a time share presentation at the airport. Does that mean Mexico is just a country of scam artists? Of course not, it means always be on guard in situations where you make an easy mark. I also once booked a crap AirBnB in Austin that turned out to have fraudulent reviews and fake photos. Does that mean Texas is full of scammers? No, it means I need to be more cautious when booking through AirBnB. A lot of people can relate to OP's bad experiences but the choice to blame Poland and it's people for them is "Ugly American tourist" behavior. |
It's not a scam, it's a weakness of stubhub not being an official reseller. Things like this happen all the time because stubhub never takes possession of the tickets and has no independent ability to live up to any of their guarantees. |
+1 OP the problem is you are trying to do a trip on the cheap. Everything you said could and does happen to tourists in the states, too. |
| OP is a He. He paid an outrageous amount and prevented local people from enjoying the show. That they scammed him back seems only fair |
Ok, but, like everything else OP attributes to being a scam, it was not a scam. The tickets were valid! |
Again OP don’t do another country in the cheap. If you think a pre recorded audio tour is the way to go, that says a lot about your lack of desire for interaction or to learn more about a place. Stay at a high ends hotel and have the concierge arrange everything for you. We went in June and had some of the best tour guides we’ve ever had. It’s a lot different to hear about what someone’s grandparents did in WWII at the site you’re looking at or have your teenagers be able to chat to the guide about how that aspect of polish schooling is different from the US. Pre-recorded tours are a cheap and sad way to go. |
| I spent a month in Poland and never got scammed once. I think you're the issue. |
|
Again, OP is an insufferable turd giving Americans a bad name. The Polish scammers are only giving him a taste of his own medicine.
Read all about this male Karen in todays Daily Mail |
| It’s me, hi, I’m the problem it’s me |
The daily Mail guy allegedly regularly travels to Poland to help with refugee efforts so not OP. |
|
He’s the OP. And regularly travels is bullshit
Poland hates you back OP. You’ve prevented 4 little girls from Poland from seeing Swift. |
It depends on how you define valid. To me, a valid ticket is a ticket that gets you entry into the event. By that definition, they were not valid |
