Why don't you volunteer for PTA and organize circulating that petition?

+1

MCCPTA is ALWAYS in need of Delegates. Each PTA is supposed to send 2, and it’s sometimes hard to get even one. Please reach out to your PTA to see how you can get involved.

If you're in it, why can't you simply do it? You don't support detectors system? You don't want to be tied to the petition?

MCCPTA has a whole process for proposing resolutions and considering them, so have at it if you’d like to propose one There are also multiple listservs for delegates and board members where information is shared regularly.

Someone posted today about the upcoming budget forums, so I’m sure you or your school’s pta president or delegate could post about the BCC meeting next week.

You like to be waited upon. Good luck with that, getting through life.

So we have admin pta and and mccpta all working against teachers for selfish interests such as money, power, and inflated grades. Teachers work for the students families and parents benefit as admin makes them work 2 jobs for the salary of 1 forr poverty wages as they are made to fudge the data with fear of retaliation. Is there an imbalance of power anywhere?

The shout they want more money for the kids and paint a rosy picture when they want something. But when the students are suing the schools for millions for the admins corruption and violence and winning, where is the money really going too. We don't want to fund your whimsey bc it gets flushed anyway as admin ignore crime and violence for their own salary climbing agenda. They don't care about educating.

What about proposal for later HS and MS start times? Will this move forward to BOE?

No, that would really mess up after school activities, homework, etc.

I refuse to do inflate grades. I write emails refusing to do it when asked, and cc the assistant principal. My RT is caught in the middle; I know it's the AP that's pushing it. It doesn't make me popular, but I have been left alone after awhile.

If I ever return to education I am going to buy a body camera to compile evidence if I ever get attacked by students or retaliated by the admin for not cooking the books.

MCCPTA cannot advocate for things that some parents want and others do not (bell times for example). In these cases where many disagree, they ask you to advocate directly to the BOE - for things that effect every student/every school that there is clear agreement on (improve the drinking water, retain the reading specialists), they can and do advocate with the BOE.

For those claiming they are an extension of the teachers union, please provide examples, because I call BS. These are volunteers advocating for students, petiod.

Are you talking about MCCPTA? That has nothing to do with the union.

They just passed a healthy bell times resolution. They are advocating on this.

I agree with PP that it's unlikely to make a difference.

I'm talking about mccpta, pta, admin , parents, and the public all blame societal short comings and educational corruption/low standards on the teachers who are just carrying out marching orders. They tell us to inflate, they make us silent when the kids are violent, and they force and coerce us to violate our own contracts; and we do it out of fear of losing our slave-wage job.

Are MCCPTA reps attending this evening's "safety" meeting?

What about Teacher and Staff unions? Teachers are fed up too as are parents and students.
