What do you think of posse?

Yes I agree 100%! It’s still a great scholarship and I can’t believe she had made it this far ! I’m very grateful and even if she has a 10% chance , better than 0!😂

No, it's terrible.

If you are a finalist and you get in, then the school knows you are a posse finalist.

If you get rejected then you have to apply to some other school, and why would you tell them that your posse school was your first choice and you're only applying to them because you didn't get the scholarship?

If you get rejected by Posse, you get rejected by Posse, *not* by the college.

If you are *applying to a Posse school*, it's certainly worthwhile to share your Posse file with the college.

And honestly I don't think any school is vindictive enough to treat a kid just because the kid tried to get a full scholarship to college

"reject" not "treat".

If you are a Posse finalist, then you are offered a chance at one single school. Let's say UVA for the purpose of example. When you are in the finalist round, you are evaluated by AOs of that school (UVA). If you win the scholarship, then UVA knows you are a Posse finalist because their AOs already evaluated you and accepted you. (If you are a successful Posse finalist applying ED, it is somewhat like getting a pre-read for an athlete applying ED - you are all but assured of being accepted because they already looked at your transcript etc. and already interviewed you.) You don't have to tell them you own Posse, they know! If you get rejected in the final round, then you have the option to apply to UVA RD but it is certainly not going to help you to remind them that their AOs already rejected you in the Posse process.

Similarly, if you are rejected as a Posse finalist for a slot at UVA, it is not going to help you when you apply to W&M to say you were a Posse finalist at UVA. That is as good as telling them they are your backup choice not their first choice. And you weren't even good enough to get your first choice. The W&M AOs aren't going to be impressed by that.
