Pregnant Au Pair

If you like the au pair, keep her. If you want a new one, use this as the reason to let her go.

Isn't WANTING to carry the baby to term an "excuse" enough? Do you want women to have control of their own bodies/health care, or do you want women forced into unwanted abortions?

Does anyone know the rules regarding pregnancy during the au pair program? We can't find any clear stipulations in her contract or the State Department website.

She can exchange her Au Pair visa as international student visa. Schools like nova community college should be easy to enroll & cheap. Then with her student visa, she should be able to apply for medicaid since her income is not good anyway.

Depending on her country of origin, it’s possible

Idk but I would happily kick this up to the au pair agency or the state department or whoever is in charge of this ridiculous “employment” loophole.

OP, what country is she from? Who is the baby's father?

The au pair has no money, no visible means of support, and will be sponging off her host family. She can't afford a baby and US taxpayers should not be responsible for her or her child.

Foreign nationals don't qualify for medicaid.

So every woman who has no money or no visible means of support should be forced to abort the baby?

Genuine question: are you a liberal or conservative? How do you square your beliefs about abortion with your stance on immigrants having children here?

The au pair has health insurance, will most likely leave after having baby as she will want to go home. The family has money and she can work until the baby is born
She is not sponging of the host family

Her baby will be an American, and it will.

Why doesn't she want to go home now?
