So far in lodging and flights we are at about $6,500 for 5 of us. That includes a really expensive in country flight. I expect we will spend maybe another $2,500 in food and activities.
This feels uncomfortable for us but it’s just not our norm. I’m excited and hope this gives DH the travel bug we need.
We spend $12-20k for a family of 4. That's airfare im economy, lodging, food, other transport, and activities for West Coast/Caribbean/Canada. My kids are teenage boys so costs are a bit higher.
