Hi! I’m op and it’s not that “I care so much!” - really; I have never asked one them and never will - which is why I asked on an anonymous forum that’s free to use.

But don’t you find it a little bit weird to still be doing this in April 2024 ?

OP, a lot of people do weird things. The fact that you are asking this and saying this is weird really shows that you do care about this.

it's normal to be unsettled by people who don't properly blend into society.

"Don't properly blend into society"? Lol. You might benefit from therapy. Or just more interaction with other people.

Like I said, it's like being uncomfortable if an unkempt man muttering to himself approaches you on the street.

Wearing a mask in 2024 doesn't qualify as this.

What? Of course it does. Well-adjusted people do not wear masks in 2024. It's akin to being uncomfortable if an unkempt man muttering to himself approaches you on the street.

Well, then a good number of the people I work with "don't properly blend into society" according to you. But the thing is ... they do. Just fine. So I think it is you who has the issue. Obsessing over what other people are doing like this, to the extent you are equating people who wear masks with people who are "unkempt" and "muttering" and approaching people on the street, is over the top. Or maybe you are just low IQ and can't understand things?

The cloth masks are for allergies. It's OK. Allergies are not contagious.

PP here, I didn't realize there were so many trees and plants inside a giant office building.

At Duncan Donut yesterday, I saw someone was masking like this:

(NOTE: not the actual person! Just some rando pic off the ‘net).

Does not look very effective to me, but who knows?

They don't blend in. They never did, and they don't know. They're mentally ill and should not be coddled.

NP here. You sound insane.

It's sad to me that we are still judging people for masking in 2024. It does not affect you. You don't know someone elses home circumstances. Just leave them alone.

I passed a woman this morning walking her dog, outside, by herself, masked.

I know a woman who masked back in 2014 when she worked the car pool line at school because of her terrible allergies.
You’re an idiot if you didn’t think this may be the case with everything in bloom.

You should talk to someone about your pandemic trauma. Mask-wearing by *other people* should not send someone into this type of response.

Or perhaps they nearly died the first time they had Covid and have some PTSD they’re working through (my personal reason for my lingering fear of the virus despite the changes in variants)

But often when I see someone wearing a mask, I assume they’re sick and being courteous of others.

PTSD from Covid? Interesting. Is this widespread?

PTSD from almost dying from Covid, yes. Covid gave me a heart attack and yes, a little trauma from near death before my kids were even adults remains. Anyone who had a heart attack or stroke due to Covid and survived is going to have some PTSD.

Your logic makes no sense. Most people are selfish and go out sick. I don’t want to get sick. Do her a favor and stay away. You sound like a terrible person.

So all of you attacking the OP for this post wouldn’t see someone masking every day, even alone in their car, and wonder about it?
