People still masking every day at work

Anonymous
There are a few people at my federal office who are still masking every day. One of them wears rubber gloves and masks-up every day. One of them drives to work while masked up, alone, in her car.

Should I assume they are unvaxxed? Just super paranoid or something??

I find this so weird.

The unvaxxed typically don't mask.

They have autoimmune or cancer, or more likely they LIVE with someone who is VERY high risk with similar conditions.

I'd say 20% of the folks I work with still mask at work. Maybe even a higher percentage.

But masking alone in her car doesn't make sense. I almost don't believe that detail.

I'm not understanding why others care so much about this.

I know of one person like this in real life and she is a very active member of the Covid cautious crowd on X. They think the rest of us all have brain damage from Covid, and that everyone’s going to be disabled in the next few years and they’ll be able to say “See, we told you so!”

This. We have one guy who still wears an N-95 daily. His wife is currently fighting cancer and any virus could literally kill her. I get it, and I unmasked early and often (when legal).

I think what you should assume is that it's their business, and that they're adults who make the decisions that work for them.

Hi! I’m op and it’s not that “I care so much!” - really; I have never asked one them and never will - which is why I asked on an anonymous forum that’s free to use.

But don’t you find it a little bit weird to still be doing this in April 2024 ?

There is a “Covid cautious” group on X ?

I was not aware that’s a thing.

Very much so and it’s completely insane in there.

+ 1. How does it affect you? How is it any of your business?

I suppose you could say the same thing about the Q-anon believers.
