| Buy good stuff secondhand |
| I like Quince for work pants. I have a lot of success with blouses from Amazon, but that's about it. |
AND?? Still not Chunky |
| Talbot's Outlet in Springfield |
But not wool crepe pants - these days the material is thin to accommodate the demand for stretch and movement, which means the wool will get shiny and flat at the seat and quads in just a few years. So secondhand designer wool crepe pants won’t have the shelf life you might think it would. I’m talking in the Theory etc price point |
| Idk what size you are, but Nic and Zoe has been good for me for kind of comfortable, inexpensive casual work clothes. |
| I don’t understand why the fact that ops job is two days a week in person means she is only looking for garbage quality, unflattering clothes?? Can you not buy two nicer mix and match outfits from jcrew or boden or similar during their multitudes of sales? Or is there a requirement you look slovenly at this new job? Amazon is worse quality, less fashionable and less flattering than pretty much everything out there. |

I love the loft for petite pants. They have the curvy fit which works for my 5 feet frame and 114 pounds.
|
| Look for pieces made of ponte fabric, aka ponte di Roma. It is like a thick t-shirt material. It does not look cheap like many fabrics often used at lower price points and is stretchy, so very comfortable. Some Amazon brands used to have ponte dresses and they were quite good value. |

There are a milion instgram influencers who focus on exactly this.

If you are working for the STEM research end of a University, almost no one cares what you wear as long as it's not too revealing. |
That’s a curvy?! |
Then just wear the clothes that are already in your wardrobe? Op is going out of her way to buy new clothes for a new job. Why aim crazy low by buying cheap garbage clothes? Just because no one cares what you wear doesn’t mean you want to show up to your job looking terrible. |
+1 they usually have a lot of petite options |

lol at everyone freaking out at “Amazon clothes”. Just like the clothing in your local retailers, Amazon sells clothing from a lot of different suppliers. Some are garbage and some aren’t. You can find fine stuff if you don’t mind returning a lot.
Having said that, I worked in what sounds like a similar position position in Johns Hopkins and let’s just say no one is going to be judging you on fashion. This is not a fashion conscious crowd. Dress so you feel comfortable and adequately professional and don’t worry about it for a second more. |
