why are all the men in Chevy Chase DC so darn unattractive?

The good looking men in DC are in the gay neighborhoods--no longer Dupont, try Logan Circle. Since I'm married, eh, no difference if he's gay or not since all that matters is how pleasing he is to the eye.

CC DC is mostly straight couples with kids--boring to look at.

Older divorced cute guys live in Potomac, McLean and Great Falls. Married and looking to cheat Generation X cute guys are in pockets of Oakton and out in Loudoun County. Not from personal experience mind you.

Great, so my immediately surrounding areas (CCDC, Bethesda, AU Park) are full of fuglies.

Well, they're full of middle-aged suburban dads who, on weekends, dress like... middle-aged suburban dads. Dorky shorts and ball caps aside, they're past the eye candy point of their lives.

I notice a lot (not all) of houses around Lafayette are not kept well - lawns overgrown, paint peeling. I guess it is an overall way of life there.

Yes, it's the favela of DC.

Spring Valley, Cleveland Park, and Georgetown

My CC man is particularly hunky after he's done all the laundry, made lunches for the kids and soothed me through some work or family crisis. Luckily all you ladies can't tell that just by looking at him at the park.

I'd prefer pale over John Boehner's oompa loompa legs any day!

This thread is hilarious, and I live in 20015. I agree there isn't a ton of real eye candy in this neighborhood, but I have to point out that OP started by saying she didn't see them at Lafayette - the elementary school and park famous for its 'tot lot.' My husband's cute, probably not eye candy, but I can promise you we never hung out at lafayette before having kids. Now that we have them, and our non-work life revolves around them, we're frankly out to enjoy our free time, not impress you. I could probably be an 'attractive' woman if I bothered, but I'm the one in a baseball cap, capris and chacos on saturday because that's good enough for us. In other words, OP, if you're looking in daddy-ville, esp. in an area where most houses list for at least $800k, you're not gonna find super-hunks. Sad, but true.

Just as politicians are celebrities made for radio, DC is a town full of fuglies!

So you're basically saying he's unattractive.

i think this is why my husband and I have probably what is an unrealistic view of ourselves (in a favorable manner). we feel pretty hot most of the time by comparison.

You know what they say. Politicians and actors are the same. The good lookers go to Hollywood and the homely ones come to DC.

DC hot must be like office hot, both of which have no basis in reality.
