Best anxiety meds with NO weight gain

Zoloft
I haven't gained any weight. I have lost a few pounds actually.

Four pages and no one has mentioned hormone replacement therapy. At the right dose, it can often help you lose weight and alleviate the anxiety.

It comes later. I lost 10 pounds my first 2 months on Prozac and then within a year, I gained over 20. I was told that is not uncommon. Once I weaned myself off the weight started coming off.

Definitely following.

Topomax.

There is a joke that people lose weight on it because they forget where the fridge is.

Informal name for it: Dopomax.

As for this from a PP: Bottom line is that SSRIs are not somehow slowing down your metabolism or magically piling on the pounds. You do have to pay attention to what you’re eating.

Nope. Sorry. Your experience isn't true for everyone and every ssri/sani.

Wellbutrin makes anxiety worse for many. The question is why OP values a click on the BMI scale over her mental health.

It's all tied to me. I can't be overweight and feel good about myself, I have tried. My social anxiety gets worse when I am bigger.

I get you, OP. The benefit of the SSRIs isn’t worth the lower self confidence from weight gain. I’m glad I noped out and lost weight instead.

CBD is probably the best option.

Really? While I understand the preference not to gain weight, if things were truly *unbearable* you would accept side effects.

I am going to find someone who really needs help. Google Ozempic and Xanax and call us back

I lost weight on the lowest dose of Lexapro. I’m an emotional eater and once the anxiety and low-level depression lifted, pounds just fell right off. It was lovely.

So basically you either have an eating disorder or no actual mental health issue.

Once my kids are both in college I will be fine, but no amount of exercise, relaxation or eating right is helping with the high levels of stress I feel all the time lately. Can you recommend something than made you feel happy and not anxious at all? Weight gain is an absolute NO as I am borderline right now on BMI.

What grade are they in? Just curious. Mine are junior twins and I’m stressed out. Am about to toddle (close to waddle) to get a crumb of diazepam which I’ve not taken for months but need today. I’m the one who tried lexapro and put on 30 lbs that stuck.

Side note - when you microdose the valium, how much are you taking? Asking for a friend.

Actually I had a 5 mg long acting so I just took it cause it’s hard and can’t be broken. Typically I break 2 or 5 into smaller pieces. Maybe a quarter of one.

I came back to say that what I took was .5 long acting not 5 mg long acting. If I had taken 5 I might still be asleep.

And then what? What’s happening now? Weight still off? Still taking Lexapro?

I gained weight on Prozac, but I also got happier. Which motivated me to fix my eating and start working out. I don't think there's a happy pill that doesn't have a weight gain correlation.

I gained 9 lbs in 6 weeks on Prozac when I was 25 with a good metabolism.

Wellbutrin hasn’t done much for me but others love it. Some people lose weight on it. My appetite seemed smaller but I never lost weight (and I need to).

Neither is true.

It’s wise to consider risk/benefit trade-offs before taking any medication. I did what was right for me. You do you, PP.

Eating disorders are a mental issue so not sure why that person would think it's any less serious than depression or anxiety. In fact they often all go hand in hand...
