Are people still intermittent fasting?

Pretty sure 16 hours is a fast. I mean when you have a fasted blood test, you stop eating by midnight and that’s considered “fasting.” One doesn’t have to go entire days of not eating in order to be counted as a fast. Even Muslims at Ramadan eat at night.
