My DD is a junior at O'Connell this year and is having a wonderful experience and receiving an excellent education. Beyond that, we are so thankful for the values of the school. Our DD transferred this year due to a physical issue she has that is hard to hide (on her face - think a very obvious birthmark). For years, she experienced much heartache at her previous school as those students made comments "behind her back" about her physical problem and often to her face. She understandably wanted to transfer.
Upon starting at O'Connell this year, she has never been called out in any way regarding her facial feature. Ever. Where it happened regularly at her previous school, it is not something that would be done at O'Connell. Kids at O'Connell are extremely kind and accepting. And the sense of community at the school is deep and genuine.
