My sense is that many white/Asian males with super high stats (some from magnets) CS majors don't get BK because there are just too many of them at UMD, mine included (from a magnet).

So, if that is OP's kid, you might be sol.

My DD is URM high stat from FCPS with good EC didn't get it.

I am not asking for my kids, just curious.

I am sure that a high stats kid can land on their feet with or without BK, hardly sol either way.

OP here, D24 is URM but not first gen. She has been a finalist for every school to which she applied by the early deadline(3/3). She has grades, test scores and goes to an excellent private. We are assuming that she checked a lot of boxes. Part time job for 2 years, started her own non profit and got local and national media coverage, leadership positions in school etc...
