Why is FCPS such screwups?

To the principal-it sounds like the substitute custodians are not trained. If a substitute shows up, they should know what their role is and not just be a warm body. Also everyone has phones these. How hard is it for a custodian to set a reminder to to unlock and lock doors at the correct? If people aren’t doing their jobs well “I forgot” doesn’t really cut it and it’s up to the higher ups to make sure they improve their performance.

This thread may be the ultimate in terms of Karens and Kens demanding to talk to the manager.

I'm sure a door being unlocked 10 minutes late on a Sunday is right at the top of their concerns

Great. So stop whinging and send your kids to private.

It's a win for everyone.

Yeah, my children don’t give money away to people who refuse to do their jobs. They’ll give their money to people who genuinely are in need, not lazy employees.

Really what did you call it before that because I guarantee you've been whining and complaining long before covid!

Despite that, our org has recurring issues with custodians not unlocking the doors for our scheduled practices and games. If we don't show up in the first hour of permit use, the custodians lock up and go home (despite being paid for the whole day. We are supposed to get a four hour grace period per county rules, but no one is wiling to enforce it. The schools also frequently cancel community use during the week and don't tell the county, then we show up and our teams can't practice.

An hour late? I’d have given you 30mins tops and then I’m locking up and putting in for my time, and going out for lunch or a quick 9 holes. You are welcome to use the outdoor black top. Otherwise if something is important to you show up on time.

Plus if this has happened to you more than once and you failed to adjust your behavior accordingly (ie get there on time or at least before he locks up an hour after his arrival) that means you have a hard time with pattern recognition and the janitor, who is obviously a master of pattern recognition is quicker on the uptake than you, that’s all.

I would happily go to private school if you stop taxing the $hit out of me.
