It’s only a matter of time before he gives another speech and over time they will devolve further. From blaming the British losing the Revolutionary War from a lack of airports to confusing magnets with electricity to confusing Nikki Haley for Nancy Pelosi (and then getting the basics of a situation totally bonkers wrong), he’s not going to improve. Here's the thing though. In communications, it's not always what you say, it's HOW you say it. Trump has a way of speaking that is full of casual confidence, even when what he says is bonkers or rambling nonsense. He doesn't hesitate, or look confused, or mumble like Joe Biden. So even though both candidates are doubtless experiencing significant cognitive decline, Biden seems older than Trump. That will likely be enough to get him defeated for re-election.

Biden is old but he’s not suffering from cognitive decline. Even GOP Congresspeople concede Biden remains sharp.

Trump however is clearly suffering.

I think a debate between the two is an important reality check for GOP voters.
