Trump's rambling speech today

The problem is we have a constitution that says he is disqualified from holding office. The voters can't vote in a 25 year old either, even if they want to.

Ah but you’re pretending that the GOP cares about little things like precedent and the Constitution. They do not.

How many more of these “moments” can Trump afford before Republicans start seriously considering other options?

They cannot consider any other options. They have tied themselves to him fully.

Trump is addled and confused. He smells bad, and he’s a corrupt traitorous rapist. But nobody’s perfect.

Well, they "reported the thread," so that's something.

Interesting. Why isn't this "If the [vote] shows Trump is America’s choice"?

He's the albatross, and they are the neck.

Yes, it smells bad.

It’s only a matter of time before he gives another speech and over time they will devolve further. From blaming the British losing the Revolutionary War from a lack of airports to confusing magnets with electricity to confusing Nikki Haley for Nancy Pelosi (and then getting the basics of a situation totally bonkers wrong), he’s not going to improve. The moronic but amusing to some riffing is probably gone, too. It’s going to be a weird and confusing grievance tour.

Here's the thing though. In communications, it's not always what you say, it's HOW you say it. Trump has a way of speaking that is full of casual confidence, even when what he says is bonkers or rambling nonsense. He doesn't hesitate, or look confused, or mumble like Joe Biden. So even though both candidates are doubtless experiencing significant cognitive decline, Biden seems older than Trump. That will likely be enough to get him defeated for re-election.

You must be watching an AI version of Trump because he sounds and looks like a lunatic to me.

+1

I love that the pp had to both sides despite the fact that there’s zero evidence of significant cognitive decline in Biden… but we’ve watched Trump’s brain rot in real time.

And I already said that Trump has lost the ‘it’ he had. It’s gone. The sinister sparkle his gross supporters loved is gone.

The right wing should sharply pull back from criticizing Biden for not being available to the press. Trump is going to have to be hidden away during the runup to the election.

Trump rambles every day. When has he EVER given a speech that wasn't rambling? Seriously, I'd like to be given the day and time that happened.

Biden is old but he’s not suffering from cognitive decline. Even GOP Congresspeople concede Biden remains sharp.

Trump however is clearly suffering.

I think a debate between the two is an important reality check for GOP voters.
