Yes to this. Sounds like your kid is doing fine. If levels were below 50% then you should think about figuring something out.

Can confirm that MAP-R is not directly correlated to reading. I have a kid has never voluntarily opened up a book other than a graphic novel yet somehow scores 95% range.

I recommend reading classes by Ms. Vanessa Roach on Outschool. Her classes are really educational and engaging.

I feel like it is imperfect, especially around the highest level. It seems to fluctuate a lot, at least for my child. My daughter went from a 257 to a 263 this fall and got a winter score of 247.

That sounds reasonable but average appears to be closer to 99% based on what I read here so I'd look into it.
