In ParentVue? Or via email? My kid hasn’t been updated in ParentVue I guess that means they werent accelerated? Kid has 100% so far in comp sci so assumed they would be accelerated given that they requested it. Do you know anything more?

DC has 100% too but is not from TPMS so we encouraged them not to do it. They said everyone that asked for the path by the deadline should have had their schedules updated as all the kids were comparing schedules.

Who said this and when? By email?

It's changed on StudentVue, parents can see the schedule on ParentVue.

Looks like the old schedule. Hasn’t updated.

They told the kids a few weeks ago in school that if you asked for the path by filling out the Google form you were automatically approved. There was no application this year. The CS person who did the presentation at the open house or back to school night said something similar.

I'm sure they reserve the right to discourage your child from taking it if your child has a C or another low grade of course but really if you had a bad grade why would your child want to create more work for herself anyway?

Message my kid got was “fill out this form to indicate your interest in the accelerated path”. No other info was shared on the process or whether it was automatic. And the CS teacher wasn’t at back to school night and the two teachers filling in for her mentioned nothing of this.

Then your child was not listening well.

At the back to school night different teachers filled in during different periods. The teacher who filled in during DC's period was very clear there was no application this year for the first time. The kids were apparently discussing today and everyone else seemed to know this according to DC.

The "application" this year was nothing other than expressing interest but we were told staff did still review the list kids and if their grades were too low or there were other issues they may not have been approved.

Sounds like my kid was listening just fine and other kids got the same info, but thanks.

Also if you mean no test, this is not the first time, so maybe you weren’t listening well!

Huh? What does TPMS have to do with this? Why are you basing your recommendation based on other people's schooling instead of your child's own?

NP. I'm pretty sure the words used were no formal application process or something like that. I don't know about any test but your posts make me feel really lucky we don't have to interact with parents in high school.

DP, per the junior who responded to this thread, the process for this class was the same two years ago as it is now (Google form aka an application, no test).

Hopefully if we were interacting in person PP wouldn’t be so rude as to claim that my kid wasn’t listening because they were given less detailed or different info in one of the four sections than her kid (who may have made assumptions) claims to have.
