Upper NW elementary schools- Lafayette, Murch, Janney- any difference?

Anonymous
We've struck out on the lottery the past couple of years and plan to move to a Deal feeder neighborhood for our lower elementary school kiddos from NE if we don't get a better school option for next year--is there a tangible difference between Lafayette, Murch, and Janney? I know Lafayette is a huge school- but other than the number of classes per grade, are they all pretty similar? Is there a difference in how much computer/devise usage there is in each school for learning instruction? Thanks in advance.
Housing stock and whether you are in the market for a SFH, TH, or own/rent apt will determine much of this. I think Murch is widely known as the nicest kids and families, possibly due to it having a lot of apartments in its zone. People love the Murch principal. Lafayette I know a lot of friends that were disappointed because they were sold on Mayberry but because so many have been sold on Mayberry, the school is bursting at the seams - the class sizes are big and challenges when the school doesn't keep friends together in the next grade, etc.

I'd prioritize being easily commutable to Deal and JR. Walkable or a direct bus line.

all the same. prioritize the location and house that works for the family's lifestyle and schedules

Agree these schools are all basically the same. We ended up at Janney, and I would say the three big pluses are that 1) my kids can walk to Janney/Deal/JR; 2) you can drop kids at school and be on the red line in 5 mins; and 3) in my opinion the after care is unmatched by any other Upper NW elementary school. It’s affordable, flexible, and well run.

All that said, our friends at nearby schools seem as happy as we are with their kids’ elementary experiences.
